The German U-Boat U-47 under the command of Commander Günther Prien gained fame with the impressive attack on Scapa Flow Bay, against a British Navy base.
U-47 sank the battleship Royal Oak, hit her support ship Pegasus, and eventually sailed out of the bay undamaged.
