In 1960s USAF introduced two new painting schemes:

Air Defence Command aircraft, responsible for defence of US homeland from hostile air raids, gained overall ADC Grey coat (the scheme was officially introduced in 1959 and subsequently used by USAF and US ANG air defence aircraft).

In 1966 the “South East Asia” scheme (SEA), also known as “Vietnam Scheme” was introduced on USAF aircraft of Tactical and Strategic Air Commands (TAC and SAC).
